Scott Helmer Marks First Month of Support YOUR Cause Tour with 20 Shows Across Seven States
Singer-Songwriter Reaches Early Milestone as Nationwide Fundraising Tour Continues
TEMPE, Ariz., June 20, 2012 — Singer-songwriter Scott Helmer has completed the first month of his Support YOUR Cause Tour 2012–2013, reaching an early milestone with 20 performances across seven states while bringing live music and awareness to charities and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States.
Since launching the tour on April 30, Helmer has performed in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas, with additional performances scheduled in the weeks ahead. The tour has included appearances ranging from intimate venues to major community festivals, including the Foster City Arts & Wine Festival in Northern California, where more than 35,000 people attended during the weekend celebration.
"It's a bizarre mix of being both exhausted and energized at the same time," said Helmer. "Being on the road is tough, both physically and mentally, but meeting new people, sharing my music and supporting worthwhile causes makes it all worthwhile."
Created to encourage support for charities and nonprofit organizations, the Support YOUR Cause Tour combines solo acoustic performances with a message of giving back to local communities.
"There are going to be times when people need a little help getting back on their feet," Helmer said. "There are so many organizations doing important work, and they deserve our support."
Throughout the tour, Helmer performs original songs from his upcoming debut album, Wake Me When It's Over, along with acoustic favorites. The album is scheduled for release later this summer.
Following a successful first month on the road, the Support YOUR Cause Tour 2012–2013 continues with additional performances across the Southwest before expanding to Kansas, Idaho, Illinois and New York.
