Scott Helmer, pictured on the road — American singer-songwriter and Guinness World Records holder
Scott Helmer is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and Guinness World Records holder known for his powerful vocals, unforgettable hooks, and emotionally charged performances. His music is a blend rock, pop, country and folk, built on strong hooks, soaring choruses, and emotionally resonant storytelling.
His studio recordings feature polished, full-band production, often with Scott performing nearly every instrument, while his solo-acoustic shows strip the songs down to their raw, honest core—one voice, one guitar, just as they were written. Standout tracks like Time To Say Goodbye, Broken, Go Go Go, Have Guitar Will Travel, and I'll See You Again.
With more than 1,000 shows performed nationwide, Scott has earned a reputation for authentic, engaging performances that connect deeply with audiences. A dedicated songwriter, he continues to create and release new music that reflects real-life experiences—songs about love, struggle, resilience, and second chances—always aiming to inspire and connect through the power of music.
In 2008, after losing everything—his family, wealth, and way—Scott Helmer found himself alone on a mountain road, staring down the barrel of a gun. In that moment of desperation, he cried out to God and made a promise:
“If I get through this, I’ll use my story and my music to help others.”
That decision became the foundation for everything that followed: a new beginning powered by purpose, resilience, and the healing force of music.
At the time, Scott was working as an insurance broker and, standing at a crossroads during the financial crash, made a desperate and illegal decision to use client trust account funds to try and right the ship of his failing business—believing he could fix things and pay it back.
He was wrong. Facing the consequences and the real possibility of prison, he lost everything.
But what he found was a deeper truth that now fuels his mission:
No matter how bad things get, no matter what mistakes you’ve made—even if you’ve broken the law or think your life is over—suicide is never the answer, and a comeback is always possible.
Scott shares that truth, scars and all, from the stage and in every performance, to help others keep going and never give up.
In 2016, he set the Guinness World Records title for Most Live Music Performances in 24 Hours (multiple cities) by headlining 12 charity concerts across California and Arizona in a single day. This achievement was part of his “Never Give Up” tour, created to raise awareness and support for meaningful causes.
Scott has shared the stage with renowned artists such as Heart, 3 Doors Down, Eddie Money, and Jeff Bridges, and continues to stand out at historic theaters, festivals, and live music venues across the country.
Since 2012, his performances have helped raise over $3 million for causes including:
Suicide prevention and mental health
Therapeutic riding and equine-assisted services
Veterans, military families, and first responders
Children’s hospitals and pediatric healthcare
Adaptive sports and Special Olympics programs
Historic theaters and performing arts organizations
Humane societies and animal rescue programs
Living full-time on the road, Scott brings his music directly to communities of all sizes, building connections wherever he performs. Whether headlining a benefit concert in small-town America or performing in a major city, his mission remains the same: to lift spirits, be genuine and real, unite people, and make a meaningful impact through the power of music.
Official Guinness World Records certificate awarded to Scott Helmer on November 29, 2016.
