Scott Helmer Releases "Feel," Second Single Ahead of Wake Me When It's Over EP
TEMPE, Ariz., Mar. 8, 2013 — American singer-songwriter Scott Helmer has released "Feel," the second single from his forthcoming EP, Wake Me When It's Over, scheduled for release on May 28, 2013.
Written by Scott Helmer and Rich Helmer, "Feel" was inspired by Scott's own experience after a relationship unraveled when trust was broken. As life's challenges mounted, the commitment disappeared, and what had once seemed unshakable fell apart. By the time the other person realized what had been lost and wanted to come back, it was too late. Some choices can't be undone, and once trust is gone, there is no going back.
Rather than asking for another chance, "Feel" stands its ground. It's a song about accepting that some relationships reach a point of no return. The hurt is real, but so is the resolve. Instead of holding on to yesterday, "Feel" looks ahead, acknowledging that while life moves forward, some people leave a permanent mark, and some endings are final.
Musically, "Feel" delivers that message with a modern rock sound built around driving guitars, bass, and hard-hitting drums. The verses pull back with acoustic guitar and a more restrained arrangement before exploding into a full-band chorus, giving the song both intensity and emotional weight.
Following the release of the EP's lead single, "Time To Say Goodbye," "Feel" offers another look at Wake Me When It's Over, a six-song collection that blends contemporary rock with honest songwriting and memorable melodies while exploring the highs, lows, and hard-earned lessons that come with love, loss, and moving forward.

Lyrics by Scott Helmer
You can still hear the sound my heart makes
You're haunted by how your lips on my taste
And from the start I knew just how this game was played
And when we lost all we had you ran away
But I should have known
You'd be back
But you need to know
I don't feel the same
Since you walked out on me
And there's nothing left
Of what we used to be
I don't feel the same
But I'm okay
And I'm not holding on to my yesterdays
Too many times you just threw your words away
Leaving me to clean up every mess you'd make
But I should have known
You'd be back
But you need to know
I don't feel the same
Since you walked out on me
And there's nothing left
Of what we used to be
I don't feel the same
But I'm okay
And I'm not holding on to my yesterdays
I don't feel the same
Since you walked out on me
And there's nothing left
Of what we used to be
I don't feel the same
But I'm okay
And I'm not holding on to my yesterdays
I don't feel the same
Since you walked out on me
And there's nothing left
Of what we used to be
I don't feel the same
But I'm okay
And I'm not holding on to my yesterdays
