Historic Raymond Theatre Raises Nearly $6,000 During Scott Helmer Benefit Concert

Community Support Helps Preserve One of Washington State’s Historic Performing Arts Venues
TEMPE, Ariz., July 19, 2026 — American singer-songwriter Scott Helmer helped the Historic Raymond Theatre in Raymond, Washington, raise $5,745 during a benefit concert on June 28, 2014, supporting maintenance and preservation of the landmark venue, which first opened its doors in 1928.
The solo-acoustic performance featured original music from Helmer's EP Wake Me When It's Over, along with stories and audience favorites, drawing an enthusiastic crowd to the historic theater.
"Scott Helmer had concert-goers clapping their hands, stomping their feet and dancing in the aisles," said Theatre Manager Anne Steele. "You could literally feel the energy all up and down 3rd Street."
The fundraiser received regional media coverage leading up to the event, including features in Coast Weekend Arts & Entertainment and a live in-studio interview on KIX 95.3 FM.
"Historic theaters are more than places to see a show—they're part of the story of their communities," Helmer said. "It was an honor to help the Raymond Theatre continue preserving that legacy through live music."
