New Anthem for a Divided World – Scott Helmer’s To Them We’re All the Same (Acoustic)
A stripped-down performance exposing the illusion of freedom, manufactured wars, and the powers that profit from fear and control
Scott Helmer, an American singer-songwriter known for his independent voice and honest storytelling, has released To Them We’re All the Same (Acoustic), a one-take live recording of his newest song filmed and performed in Monument Valley.
The track cuts straight to the core of what’s happening in the world today, challenging the illusion of left versus right, calling out the manipulation behind modern wars, and reminding listeners that freedom does not come from man or government—it comes from God.
With only his voice and guitar, Helmer strips everything down to the truth. There are no sides here, no slogans or safe lines to hide behind. The song is a call to unite, not stay divided. It warns that when people turn against each other over race, religion, or politics, they fail to see who is really controlling and deceiving them. Division keeps the powerful in charge and everyone else in chains.
Recorded live and acoustic, the performance is raw and unfiltered. It’s one man standing alone, saying what so many know but are afraid to speak out loud. It’s not about politics. It’s about waking up from the deception we were born into and understanding where our rights truly come from.
Helmer says the song is a wake-up call as the world once again finds itself caught in endless wars, sending our sons and daughters into battles that forever change or destroy their lives, all to serve the plans of those who profit from keeping us divided and controlled.
Scott Helmer has performed more than 1,000 shows nationwide, sharing stages with Heart, Eddie Money, 3 Doors Down, Jeff Bridges, and Eric Burdon & The Animals. Living full-time on the road, he continues to write and perform music that challenges, connects, and unites audiences across America.
Scott isn’t afraid to take on controversial subjects. His 2022 release, Shouting It Out Loud, protested the forced vaccination of children during the pandemic, following his public stand against mask and vaccine mandates covered by Human Events. With To Them We’re All the Same, he continues that same fearless commitment to truth and freedom.
To Them We’re All the Same (Acoustic) is available now on all streaming platforms and directly at his website. The official live video can be viewed on YouTube.

Lyrics — To Them We’re All the Same
Written and performed by Scott Helmer
I walk down a lonely road
Had to leave old friends behind
’Cause I
Spoke out against the left
And I spoke out against the right
No one sees both sides are the same
No one sees that we’re all being played
We get all the rights we need
Before we get our names
And they take your life
And they take your love
And they take your gun
And they take your son
And ship ’em off to fight another war
Built on lies that serve those whores
That keep us all in chains
Red, black, and white, yellow or brown — have you heard?
To them we’re all the same
A young man says the ones to blame
Reside in D.C.
But all those fools
Are puppets on a string
For the ones that we don’t see
Laws of the land
That always change
Can’t rise above
What God gave
We get all the rights we need
Before we get our names
And they take your life
And they take your love
And they take your gun
And they take your son
And ship ’em off to fight another war
Built on lies that serve those whores
That keep us all in chains
Red, black, and white, yellow or brown — have you heard?
To them we’re all the same
To them we’re all just slaves
To them we’re all just
Here to get by
And drink to survive
And work ’til we die
And don’t ask why
Here to get by
And work ’til we die
And don’t ask why
I walk down a lonely road
Had to leave everyone behind
Then I
Saw an old friend in town
And we stopped and we talked for awhile
He said
Now I see both sides are the same
Now I see that we’re all being played
We get all the rights we need
Before we get our names
And they take your life
And they take your love
And they take your gun
And they take your son
And ship ’em off to fight another war
Built on lies that serve those whores
That keep us all in chains
Red, black, and white, yellow or brown — have you heard?
Red, black, and white, yellow or brown — have you heard?
Oh, red, black, and white, yellow or brown
We all bleed red so don’t lie down
Get off of your knees
And stand up proud today
To them we’re all just
Here to get by
And drink to survive
And work ’til we die
And don’t ask why
Here to get by
And drink to survive
And work ’til we die
And don’t ask why
Here to get by
Stay stoned to survive
And work ’til we die
And don’t ask why
To them we’re all the same
